Personality Changed After Inserting Stent. Can It Be Due To Medicines?

My father recently had a stent put in. Since then his personality has changed. Seems very angry with people and life in general. He said he was feeling a lot better without the stent - far more capable of doing things around the house. Could this be from the meds he now has to take?

Hello,in general there are some psychological implications of a cardiovascular disease in a patient. Dysphoria or depression are very common in these subsets of people that may cause the same in your father. Other than that lipid regulatory medications commonly prescribed after an angioplasty may cause some amount of myalgia. Counselling is the best way to manage the mood variability and if the generalized weakness is troubling a lot you should see your consulting cardiologist for the same.
