Pain In Thigh Muscle. Low Red Blood Cell Count And Anemia. Suggestions?

I have low red blood cell count and anemia. My erythocrite (?) Count was also low. I am being sent for a colonoscopy and gastroscopy which i really don't understand why. I also am being sent to an Internal Medicine Specialist. I am a 54 yr old, still menstruating female. Unfortunately, I don't know much about my biological parent's mefical history ogher than my mother passdd away from a blood clot, 3 weeks after giving birth. Any thoughts? The symptoms that sent me to the Dr was the incredible amount of pain in my thigh muscles.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Since you mentioned that Red Blood Cells ( R B Cs ) are low and so also anemia .
You didn't mention exact figure .
If hemoglobin level is less 10 gm % then may be a cause of concern.
As you stated that there was pain in the thigh muscles , so you consulted a doctor .
In my opinion at present take only iron tablets ( syrup ) and calcium .
At the age of 54 years in females there develops depletion of calcium level hence patient feels pain in thigh muscles , and this is natural.
Consult one more doctor and take his treatment .
In my opinion there is no need of any tests according to my experience.
Good luck.
