Pain In The Muscles On Buttocks After A Back Surgery. What Can Be Done?
my father who is 72 and had a back operation 17 months ago is now experiencing pain in his muscle in his buttock and finds walking difficult. He says it is as if his feet stick to the floor. He is tired after walking only a few metres and takes small shuffly steps sliding rather than lifiting his leg to walk. THe back operation was a success and back pain has gone but he is left with this.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The pain in the muscles of the buttock can be due to prolonged resting after the surgery that would have caused a muscle wasting. Mild pain killers and regular physical therapy should help him recover. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal , drtayal72@gmail.com
