Pain In Back Of Head And Behind Ear At Night, Back Pain, Took Paracetamol, Used Anti Inflammatory. Suggestion?
I've had pain in the back of my head and the right side behind the ear for years now just about every night. It happens when I've been asleep for a bout 3 to 4 hours I've tried all different sleep positions and pillows but it's not going away. I found that lying on my back helped but now I'm getting vice like pain in the lower back of the head. I take paracetamol every nite and have used anti inflammatorys but these give me a bad stomach.
Have you tried to find out if there are other diseases conditions that may likely be responsible i.e by visiting a doctor who can get your examined. It is very unusual to develop occipital headache when you are asleep. Diseases conditions such as hypertension and brain tumor can be responsible for such headaches. Trying to remedy that kind of situation on your own may not be the best way to go about it but rather try to see a neurologist who can run some tests and scans to rule out most common causes of the headache. Also if you are recently been stressed out or worried or depressed, this might be related and you might also require a psychiatric consultation.
Hope this helps
