My daughter has large ovarian cysts and is currently having a severe flare up. Ultra sound today reveal cyst have attached to uterine wall. She also has high precancerous cervical cells and is at the point she says she is headed for a full hysterectomy. She is 31 and has 2 children. I would of hoped she could of saved her ovaries but the flare up has her determined to just take it all out. Is it ever an option to remove the cyst from the ovaries?
I am so sorry to hear about the health problems your daughter has. t must be a very difficult time for you but i can only ask you to standby her and support her in this very trial moment.
It is possible to take off the cyst and allow the ovaries. The only problem is that you would still have to worry about the ovary and its eventual possible pathologies. It is always not an easy decision deciding whether to keep the ovaries or not. However, her age may have warranted keeping them a more plausible option. She may also take the off and go on hormonal pills to maintain her feminine characteristics or decide to keep one of them if she so chooses.
I wish her a very safe surgery. Feel free to ask us more questions if need be. Hope this turns out helpful. Dr. Ditah, d
