Oily Scalp, Boils On Scalp, Itching, Migraine Problem. Remedy?
Hello doc i have oily scalp ,and problem of heat boil in my scalp which itches at time and just makes me keep touching it all the time.i take head bath 2wice a week as i have migrane problem aswell. i am located in banglore is it something related to weather or heat.
Itching over the scalp and increased oiliness could be due to seborrhoeic dermatitis or dandruff. Because of scratching you are introducing infection into hair follicles thus causing boils or folliculitis. First thing to rule out should be head lice which is the commonest cause of itching and boils over the scalp. If there are no lice or nits, you may use an anti fungal shampoo containing 2% ketoconazole and 1 % ZPTO twice a week during head bath.
You will need a course of antibiotics for the boils. Kindly get it prescribed by your doctor. Avoid applying oil over the scalp. I do not think it is related to Bangalore weather.
Hope this helped. Take care
