Numbness In Shin, Ankle And Foot, Hear Heart Beat In Ear, Indentations On Head. MRI Done. Are Symptoms Related?

I have had 3 MRIs (one on the lower back and two on my right knee ) the past month because I have numbness in my shin, ankle and foot . I am unable to raise my foot at the ankle. They found a herniated disc between the L5 and S1 but barely compressing on my S1 nerve. Additionally, I have been having alot of back and neck pain accompanied with headaches. I have pain and ringing in my right ear along with feeling/ hearing my heartbeat in my ear. The top of my head has been hurting me lately and I just noticed two indentations on the top of my head. Are all of these symptoms related?

Hai,

Thanks for writing in,

Seems you are suffering from Foot drop (Common Peroneal Nerve palsy). Herniated disc between L5/S1 along cannot cause foot drop. Did you sustain any injury around your right knee or any kind of compression on lateral aspect of your knee joint? I would suggest you to go for nerve conduction study for your foot drop and proceed further. Discuss with your doctor.

The ringing in ear or indentations on top of your head are not related to your foot drop. Get yourself examined from ENT and Neurophysician to diagnose your problem.

Till then passively keep moving your ankle joint. Since your leg and foot are numb, take care that you don't get hurt / wounded. Always use foot wears - adequately padded to avoid skin ulcerations.

Wish you a good health.
