Normal To Have Painful Lump On Injection Spot After Sprained Ankle?

About 4 months ago I went to the foot doctor with a sprained ankle. He shot my foot twice with an "herbal" injection. This month I developed a lump where the in injection was. It feels like a bone mass and it's the size of a marble. It hurts really bad to the touch and also hurts when I move my foot. Does this sound normal? Should I get a second opinion?

Hi,
This is not normal after the treatment you describe. The problem could be related to the injection or due to the underlying problem. There may be infection.
I suggest you see your foot doctor for further assessment.
Regards,
Dr K A Pottinger
