No Heartbeat Observed During Sonography. What Does Torch Test Suggest?

Hi, I was 6 week pregnant and this is my first pregnancy and during sonography doct. observed no heartbeat and suggested to go for D & C, after D&C, I went to consult another doc, she suggested TORCH test, report are like this CMV-IgG- 196.4, CMV-IgM-0.2, rubella IgG-98.6, rubella-IgM-0.16, Toxoplasma-IgG-0.6 and IgM-0.07, Doc prescribed to take Rovamycin forte and Acyclovir.....I wanted to know whether by taking these medicines the viral infection can be controlled ? can we plan for a baby ? and how much time should we wait for that?any other precautions we should take so that this problem could not happen again with me? plz give me some suggestion...thanks

hi
first - wishing u a happy new year
and welcome to our site

read your query
that is a very significant question
and i appreciate your problem

i will try my best to answer your query
please do understand that some problem remains as
online texting cuts down the effectivity

TORCH is a group of infections that is tested
in your case it was tested in view of no heart beats in usg

what happens is that in a normal conception
the heart starts beating at around 21 days
or 3 weeks
in your case no heart was seen at 6 weeks
therefore they did D and C

they wanted to evaluate why this happened
infections are the commonest cause
so they tested for it

i would have suggested fbs ppbs and tsh also

i hope this helps you
inform the reports mentioned above
so i can be of help further
i am sorry for your loss

best of luck
