Nexplanon Implant Removed. Bleeding Normal. Itching In Arm. Nexoplanon Failing?

HI, I have the nexplanon implant, I had it put in in March 2013 on the same day i had my original implnon removed after 3 years. I ve had no issues with bleeding (haven t had anything for 3 years) but my arm has developed an itch at the site of the nexplanon 7 months on it seems very random after having the last 3.5 years with no issues. Is this normal or is it a sign that my nexplanon has a fault / or is failing? Thanks.

Hello,
It looks unlikely that implanon is causing local itching around 7 months after insertion.Local itching could be due to some other reason.
Moreover this itching doesn't mean that implanon is faulty or loosing its efficacy.
Apply some local hydrocortisone cream for few days.
Hopefully you should be all right very soon.
Thanks
