Need Treatment For Swelling Under The Eyes After Falling Down

My mother fell and hurt herself two days ago. She hit something and got a gash on her forehead, she had to get stitches. Yesterday you could see the swelling from her wound on her forehead go down a bit but she had slight swelling right below her eyes and today it is way worse. Both of her eyelids are red closer to the bridge of her nose and under her eyes are really swollen. Is everything ok? Will an ice pack help at all?

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having a swelling under the eyes after falling down and after a having a stitched wound over the forehead.
This is because of collection of blood and inflammatory fluids under the layers of skin. As the skin of the eyelids is loose and it gets easily distended by the fluids.
The treatment is mainly by cold compression and use of anti-inflammatory drugs.
Hence ice pack will help and you can continue it and along with this you need to use anti-inflammatory drugs.

Thank you
