Need Medication For Pain In Arms, Dizziness And Blurred Visison

Hi, my daughter has been experiencing some pain in her underarms like the glands and random acts of dizziness when standing up causing blurred vision and to the point where she have to sit down before she faints. Can you help to tell me what this is and how to treat it. She is 13 and not on any medication.

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that her symptoms could be related to low blood pressure or orthostatic hypotension.

The glands in her underarms indicate possible infection.

For this reason, I would recommend consulting with her attending physician for a careful physical exam and some tests:

- a chest X ray study
- a cervical spine X ray study
- complete blood count for inflammation or anemia
- PCR and sedimentation rate for inflammation
- blood electrolytes.

A Head Up Tilt test is necessary to exclude possible orthostatic hypotension.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards, Dr. Aida
