Need Medication For Dizziness

I have deterioration of C2,C3. 1.5 yrs ago NS said i will know when it has to be done, just call to schedule surgery. This morning laying in bed on my back, when i turned head to the left, instant dizzy a couple times. Later got down on my knees to rinse conditioner out of my hair, when I bent my head down under the faucet, started to pass out, fell over onto tub and to floor. only lasted a short time ? Could it be my neck issues? (previously had C 4.5.6.7 cleaned out, transplanted bone, titaniam plates/screws rebuilt the discs) 12 yrs ago.

Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Based on your description of symptoms, most possibly they could be due to Vertigo. This has numerous causes and the most common cause being inner ear problem (BPPV - Benign Paroxysmal positional vertigo). Cervical spondylosis may also produce vertigo symptoms.

Avoid "abrupt" head and neck movements to reduce the incidence of vertigo attacks. A few head and neck exercises that are supposed to decrease the incidence the vertigo attacks will of help (consult either a otorhinolaryngologist/Neurophysician. Betahistine is the drug commonly used to treat an acute attack of vertigo.

A detailed clinical examination and appropriate investigations are needed to establish the exact cause of your symptoms. So, I suggest you to consult a Neurophysician for the same.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
