I know it sounds illogical, but the Atkins Diet
, if adhered to strictly, will correct both problems (it did for me). Limit carb consumption to 20 grams or less per day for two weeks, then gradually add a few more (up to about 60 per day). Yes, it's difficult, particularly during the first two weeks, but it WILL work. Check out Atkin's website for a list of specific foods to eat and not eat during each phase.
