My Daughter Is 47, She Recently Started Having Issues With

My daughter is 47, she recently started having issues with fluid retention, weight gain & loss, huge amount of swelling in her abdomen, bouts of low potassium to the point that she passes out. She had her gall bladder taken out a year & a half ago and has had a constant pain in her right side since. She was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes & is on Metformen 500, 2 X daily.
They have run the usual battery of tests, X-rays, ultra sounds, cat scans. The only thing they have come up with is low potassium, but they don't know the reason for it.
About eight years ago she was told she a Mitroal Valuve Prolapse & was put on Torpral XL, then three years ago she was checked out by another Dr., who told her she didn't have this at all. However, she is still on the Torpral XL, & they tell her to stay on it???
We are at out wits end trying to get help for her. Is there anyone out there how might be able to shed some light on her situation or what we need to be doing
