Hello....had my meniscus repaired about a month ago and the knee feels great. It's just that when I sometimes step down it feels like the bone under neath the knee that supports the knee wants to give out somewhat when muscles spasm. What do you think this is? and or what can I do to improve this?

thankyou

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, you got the miniscus repaired one month ago, so it needs some rest, and physiotherapy to get accomodated for the weight to bear.
At least 8 weeks of rest is required for the knee to be comfortable, for walking.
Injections of vit 1, 6, and 12 will help a lot to minimise the pain to my patients with such pain. Thank you.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. Saurabh Gupta's  Response
Hello Harry,
Thanks for writing to us

After meniscal repair good rehabilitation programme is required to gain the strength back. To relieve these muscle spasm, you need stretching exercises.Doing hot fomatation and applying muscle relaxant gel will be helpful.
Continue knee strengthening exercises as advised by your doctor.

I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
