Just found out I am pregnant, it was an unexpected accident as I was taking the contraceptive pill at the time. I can only be about 4 weeks gone. I'm not in a position where I am able to go through with the pregnancy and I cant afford an abortion. Where do I go from here? I need to tackle this as quickly as possible before the abortion becomes a complicated process.
There are medicines which can terminate the pregnancy safely and effectively upto 9 weeks of gestation. Tab. Mifepristone and Tab. Misoprostol have been recommended for this purpose. Usually within few hours to 72 hours after the last dose of Misoprostol, the abortion is completed.
However these medicines should be taken only with a Gynaecologist's advice. They are to be taken only after confirmation of pregnancy. So please get pregnancy test done on your overnight first morning urine sample to confirm pregnancy.
These medicines cause developmental abnormalities in the baby. Hence in case of their failure, pregnancy should be terminated by some surgical method like MVA aspiration or so.
Please report to your Gynaecologist for appropriate advice for terminating your pregnancy.
I hope this helps you.
