Lower Abdominal Fat, Fatigue, Bloating, Constipation. Early Stage Ovarian Cancer?
Hi Dr. Grief. I am 48 almost 49 in Oct, my last pap smear was four years ago. I am concerned that lately I have this lower abdomen fat that is almost impossible to get rid off no matter abdominal exercise I do seems no result. I feel bloated and feel full of gas and sometimes fatigue . Also, constipated. I am aware of the ovary symptom. Is it possible I have pre ovary cancer in early stage?
No, this is not early stage ovarian cancer. It does not give any symptoms at all when in the early stage. Pap smear is used to diagnose uterine cervical cancer. Bloating, constipation and fatigue are rather caused by large intestine issues. It can be chronic bacterial infection, bad diet, hypothyroid or even colon cancer. As you are almost 50, colon cancer should be definitely ruled out. To do that, colonoscopy should be done. You should also have stool tests, blood work, thyroid tests. To rule ovarian cancer out abdominal CT is necessary. Ca 125 level is a known marker of this disease.
Hope this will help. Regards.
