Liver Function Test, During Typhoid Treatment, Shows ALT Plasma At 262 And AST Serum At 491. Is The Treatment Effective?

Hi . my son's being treated for typhoid and also being given pantodac I.V , zofer and monocef injections since 4 days. For fever dolo tabs are given every 4 hrs. Still he is vomiting sometimes. As per his liver function test ALT serum/plasma is 262 and AST serum is 491. Is he being treated right and for how long this problem be there??

I really understand your concern, If it is typhoid fever then it should be treated with full precaution because the resistance case of typhoid being increased all over the world if the clinical picture taking longer than enough time for control the infection then resistance against the antibiotic should be suspected and switch over to some other antibiotic with two drug regime should be considered, if oral drug is not compliance then all the drugs should be administered with IV route, take care of your son every thing will be alright soon have nice day.
