Little Holes In Cleft Post Surgical Removal Of Pilonidal Cyst. Holes For Sugery Or Sinus Tracts?
I have a pilonidal cyst, I want to know if the little holes in my cleft were put there by the doctor who drained it or if these are in fact the sinus tracts that create the opening for hair and debris to enter to create the cyst. I had been assuming they were put there intentionally to help with drainage but the more I read about pilonidal cysts the more it sounds like this is not the case.

Hi, Thanks for using HCM
For pilonidal sinus usual treatment is sinus tract excision and it has to heal by formation of granulation tissue. surgically done wound will be little bigger in size.
Small holes in your clefts could be a sinus tracts, i hope your doctor has given you antibiotics to reduce infection and then to take further action.
Hope this helps you
Regards
