I've had center chest tightness and discomfort since mid June. It radiates into the pit of my throat. I've had a stress test, endoscopy, esophageal manomotry, CT, and chest xray. Nothing jumped out at the doctors. I was started on omeprazole in June incase it was GERD. There was not (and still not) any improvement. I continue to take the omeprazole. There is tenderness under the breasts (below bra line), that is sometimes too tender to fold my arms over. I stopped wearing underwire bras in June incase that was contributing (plus, it was too painful). My doc has narrowed it down to either costochondritis, or anxiety. This is a continuous sensation, that has a tight cough that goes with it when I laugh or talk too long. I can't imagine that I would be having one long panic attack. Life has not been out of control, giving me any reason to feel anxious. I've never had a panic attack before, but from what I understand...it is a come and go type of issue. My doc suggested 'experimenting' with Xanax. Nope. Not going to do that. Xanax is not something to experiment with. Plus, if your drugged up, sure, your not going to feel anything anymore. Sorry this was so long. Suggestions?
