Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I've been ill for a month now. At first I thought I was getting tonsillitis but it didn't come out fully. Then I thought I was getting a cold which didn't come out fully either. I've since had prickly heat, followed by a different rash on my back, which someone thought was shingles. I was told by a nurse that it wasn't, that my glands were up and it was glandular fever. I had blood tests which said it wasn't and have since had some extremely high blood pressure results - 177/122 was the last. I've been told to come off th combined pill immediately and have my eyes checked as I've also been getting crippling headaches. I've had my eyes checked and I do need glasses but the headaches are mostly round the back of my head and I've never suffered with them before. My Dr hasn't booked me in for a follow up and I'm concerned about my blood pressure. I'm 31, fit and healthy and have a BMI of around 30. Why is my blood pressure so high and should I ask for more tests/consultatins?
