Itchy Penis, Small Tears On Shaft Since Months, Had Sex With Partner Who Was Done With Yeast Infection Treatment. Any Correlation?

I have an itchy penis with small tears on the shaft... This has been ongoing since September 3, 2012. I had sex with my girlfriend who just finished a yeast infection treatment... Any correlation?? I used neosporin for the tears and that worked for a few weeks but now that doesn t even help. My penis skin is very thin now and tears very easily in multiple locations and is very sore. I am in desperate need of some medical advise for a course of treatment... Thanks!

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

I think that you mean tear over the foreskin and rarely over coronal sulcus (a depressed ring at the junction of shaft and head). Tear over shaft is not quite common.
These type of cuts or cracks or tear are quite possible because of yeast infection. When your partner had yeast infection it is quite natural that you are also likely to get infected with yeast infection.
It can be easily treated by appropriate anti-fungal antibiotics by orally and topically for a period of not less than 3-4 weeks to get a total eradication of this infection along with treatment for your sexual partners. Some of the precipitating factors like Diabetes and immuno-suppressive drugs are also have to looked for and try to have a control over the same to get a complete cure.
Wish you a speedy recovery.

Hi,
It seems that you might be having yeast infection.
As your girl friend had this infection, it is more likely spread through contact.
Apply anti-fungal cream locally and go for oral anti-fungal medicine course as well.
Keep local part clean, dry and airy.
Ok and take care.
