Itching, Skin Is Dry, Cant Sleep Nights. Have TB, Advised To Take AKT 4 Medicine. Help?

Thanks.. My husband is having AKT 4 medicine for his TB problem. Now he is having severe itching all over especially at night. No rash on body but skin is totally dry. Not using any soap or oil but thento can't sleep at night at all. Please suggest how to cope up with this severe itching coz sleepless nights are unbearable. Please help doctor

Hi,

Thanks for writing.

Itching at night can be due to scabies.

Other possibility is reaction to one of the drug in akt.

Ask him to take tablet like atarax at night.

Apply a good emollient all over body.

You need to find out the cause for itching first so it will be better to consult a dermatologist.

Hi itchy skin on the body without any spots or pimples can be xerosis of skiny which is caused by old age or due to att treatment for tb.it can be cured by taking atarax 25 mg at night .novonerve plus daily once in the morning and application of venusia max cream all over the body.use a moisterising soap like zyndet bar.regular intake of carrots and leafy vegetables can also cure it
