Itching And Burning Head, Hair Loss. Tried Dandruff Shampoos. Thyroid Problem Or Hormone Imbalance?

I am a 57 year old female who has no known health issues. This past January, my head started to itch and burn and there was hair loss. I have tried all of the over the counter shampoos for dandruff...head and shoulders, selsun blue, neutrogena t-gel. I even ordered Nizoral from Canada. I have tried jojoba oil, tea tree oil, massage. I even stopped drinking coffee for two months to see if caffeine might be the issue. I am at a total loss as to where to go from here.. My face now burns as well. I have an appointment with my doctor next week to have blood work done to see if I have a thyroid problem, vitamin deficiency, hormone imbalance. Do you have any ideas as to what can be going on to point me in some direction. Thank you for any input..
