Is Vertigo The Reason For Lightheadedness, ear Fullness, pulling Down Feeling Or Is It Hypothyroid ?

In October I woke up really dizzy and feeling sick. ER Dr. Next day said vertigo . Had a CT scan that said I had a likely benign cyst on bone.but it would not attribute to my vertigo. Went to PCP. She said BPPV.. Got an MRI To compare with ct scan. With and without contrast came back normal. Developed headaches with the now lightheadedness occurring every day. Went to vascular dr. No temporal arteritis. Neurologist says Vertiginous Migraines and has ordered me an EEG. ENT DR has ordered me a VNG to be done tomorrow. I even went to a cardiologist today. BP, valves stress test EKG all ok. Will have echocardiogram and wear event monitor. No one can tell me why I have lightheadedness, off balance, ear fullness, pulling down feeling from ears down to sides of throat and sometimes headaches. My neck muscles on one side spasm sometimes. I am hypothyroid. I take synthriod and Protonix for GERD.

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding light headedness ,ear fullness.

Considering your complaints it appears as you are suffering from Labyrinthine vertigo as you are having fullness in ear. As far as normal reporting of C.T. Scan and M.R.I. are concerned ,here I would like to say that that in labyrinthine vertigo of 15 days you will not get any abnormality in above investigations and this is very easily diagnose by clinical examination and only in chronic case M.R.I. if temporal will show enlarge size of sac.

To get relief you may take now-

1- Tab stugeron.

2- Rehabilitation exercise.

3- adequate fluid orally.

I hope above had answered your query.

Regards.

Hello,

The symptoms associated may be due to sinusitis.

I would advice you to get a thorough clinical as well as x-ray evaluation of the sinus infection underlying.

Complete course of antibiotics-analgesics has to be administered.

Pericoronits due to impacted wisdom tooth or decayed tooth can also cause such infection.

Based on the clinical evaluation, treatment has to be planned.
If symptoms persists, please do visit an E N T specialist.

Take care.
