Hi my girlfriend is having a throbbing pain in her throat and down to her collar bone she says it only occurs when she swallows, her family has a history of thyroid problems ad i was wondering if that could be a factor or if you had any other suggestions
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. Some thyroid disease has genetic factors also. But all thyroid disease are not genetic. She has pain at time of swallowing. Most of the time it is benign disease but she need investigation. If she has enlarged thyroid then she should go for T3, T4, & TSH level. She should also go for ultrasound neck.
If her thyroid hormones level comes to normal then she should go for FNAC of thyroid glands accordingly.
Consult your doctor and plan accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
