Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been prescribed Rosave F 5 mg for 3 months. My Triglycerides are 372, HDL is 28, LDL is 90.6 and VLDL is 74.4. Non HDL Cholestrols is 165. Kindly inform whether this medicine is really required or can be controlled by excercise and brisk walk with diet control. What are the side effects of this medicine? Pls. help.
Hello, Welcome to Health Care Magic. I read carefully your query and I understand your concern. I see from your profile blood lipid test that you have a higher level for triglycerides a low level of HDL (“good” cholesterol) a normal value for LDL but a high value for VLDL and a borderline high value for non-HDL cholesterols. With this lipid profile especially with high triglyceride level and non-HDL –cholesterol you should take Rosave F 5mg because they tell us the risk for you to have coronary heart disease, study has been shown that higher level of triglycerides and non-HDL-cholesterol predisposed for coronary atherosclerosis more than having high LDL cholesterol. During the intake of this drug you should monitor the blood lipid profile and liver functional lab test e.g. SGOT (AST) and SGPT (ALT) every three months. Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions. Kind regard, Dr .Marsida JANKO
