my fater is being released from hospital today...heart function at 17%. he suffered a mild stroke; second one in 2 years since difibulater...meds seem to be doing the trick. ok, so here s my question: one doc wants him on plavix & the other doc says no...he s uncertain who to listen to...any advise?

Plavix is used to prevent blood clots after a recent heart attack or stroke, and in people with certain disorders of the heart or blood vessels. Here your after heart function is only 17% so he is on high risk for heart issue as well he already have got stroke attack too. So he should take plavix or any other blood thinner. Here since I Dont know his age as well complete past medical history I suggest to take one more opinion from another neuro physician discuss in detail your father medical health issues. I am sure this is useful for you.
