Hi, Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum,
In your brother's case, if the compression is due to a Tumor, Steroids are given intravenously, followed by Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy. In his case may be the discs are damaged causing them to bulge and compress the nerve roots in their vicinity causing his present symptoms. The exact cause has to be ruled out. Anyways, ultimately he will be needing surgery for disc decompression. You need to chalk out a plan and discuss it with your Orthopedist.
