Is There An Alternative For Levofloxain For Lupus?

Hello I have sle lupus .I was prescribed levofloxain for uti infection and the first day I took it I got very fatigue and couldn t move due to muscle weakness and joint pain. So I discontinued the medicine. The strengthen the doctor gave me was 750mg, and I m wondering if the dosage is to high. My rheumatologist thinks that my lupus is attracting my kidneys. Is there any other medicine that my help?

hello and welcome.

yes cefixime or enoxacin an be used alternatively to levofloxacin. please have a physical exam done to rule out any tendon rupture which is associated with levofloxacin. the choice of antibiotics depends upon culture result.
