General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted the short history about your friend undergoing treatment for chest Tuberculosis for 4 - 5 months, developed pain in left ear and fever for 20 days, consulted an ENT Surgeon but no relief, wants to know whether there is any relation with tuberculosis.
- There may be tubercular infection in the ear and mastoids in particular, known to occur but not much considered.
I would advise your friend the following:
- Get opinion of another ENT Surgeon.
- Ask for investigations:
CT scan of mastoid to see for mastoiditis which can give severe pain and fever too.
Tests of blood and urine.
X-ray chest to see for follow up for tuberculosis.
Antibiotic as per the choice of your Doctor.
Good anti-inflammatory with antipyretic and painkiller properties.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
