Is There A BCG Injection Which Is Painless?

Hi Doctor , I have two weeks pre term baby .I would like to know if any painless and feverless vaccination available for BCG and others. I have already given OPV and Heptatis B to my baby within two weeks after birth but BCG vaccination is yet to be given.

hi BCG is given at birth and there are no different brands of BCG's available, universally it's the same vaccine available. it may look painful while giving the vaccine but the pain is very fleeting lasts only for a few seconds and there is no fever after that, only a swelling which will appear after 3 -6 weeks of vaccination and it may burst in some , and it is also painless. the other vaccines like DPT which is given from 6 to 8 weeks are available as painless ones for which you can ask your paediatrician. hope this helps you.
