Is The Prescribed Medicines Ok For Sore Throat And Fever?

Hello doctor, My twin sons (8 years - 44kg & 33 kg) have fever since 4-5 days with sore throat unable to eat. Doctores have prescribed them Augmentin 625 DUO and Meftal 250 with 10 ml of Mits Linctus DX syrup. Is the dosage ok or something else needs to be done?

Welcome to HCM!

The drugs that have been prescribed to your sons are good and will be effective.
Augmentin is an antibiotic which will help fight off the infection while Meftal will help in reducing the fever (often given in children).
Linctus is for the cough.

Apart from these, I'd strongly advice to get WARM SALINE GARGLES done atleast 3-4 times a day. It gives quite a relief from sore throat.
