Is The Blood Sugar Level Readings Good After Medication Changes?

Mom taking 10mm humolog at each meal. 50mm novolog at bedtime. 257 in am fasting. Today at noon her levels shot up to 487. Today is day 2 of this combo of meds. Before was 1 glipizide w/ meals. 2 metformin in am & 2 pm. Levels were between 135-256. But never hit 300. Was change good? Will It get better??

Diabetologist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Yes, it will get better.
2. The dose will be slowly increased and titrated according to meal.
3. Not to worry, change is good. 135-256 is not at all a good control. She requires humolog and try to control blood sugar level within normal range.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
