Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Ciprofloxacin is a FDA category C drug, and animal studies done showed fetal effects, but no controlled studies have been performed in humans. This drug can be given in pregnancy if the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
It is generally prescribed for gastroenteritis and infection.
The teratogenic effect of ciprofloxacin is evident in first trimester, and is not reported in third trimester. So, you can take it at 8 months without any risk.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
