Hello,

Zocor is having simvastatin. It is one of the oldest lipid-lowering drugs. Lipitor is having atorvastatin. Atorvastatin is a newer lipid-lowering drug. It is having higher efficiency, efficacy and lesser side effects as compared to Zocor. So Lipitor will be more beneficial for your mild angina. And this is the reason why your drug has been changed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
