Is Surgery Needed For Dysplasia And Abnormal Pap Smear?

I was recently diagnosed with dysplasia after finding out I had an abnormal pap smear....About a year ago, I started showing traces of blood in my urine. I was wondering if the two are related. Also, what are my options for the abnormal pap smear. Is surgery really necessary?

Welcome to HCM
This is Dr Amit. Treatment of cervical dysplasia depends on the severity of the condition. Mild dysplasia might not be treated immediately since it can resolve without treatment. Repeat Pap smears may be done every three to six months. For more severe type treatment can include:
cryosurgery, laser therapy etc. And generally dysplasia doesn't cause any sign and symptoms so presence of blood in urine before might be due to some other condition. Feel free to ask if you have any other doubts
Regards
