Hi
My son who is 2 years old since birth has got tears flowing down the corner of his left eye even when he's not crying. He is recently diagnose with a condition call eye fistula. Is it necessary for him to go for surgery or should we wait & see if it will recover?
Thanks for your advice.
it is congenital blockage of nasolacrimal duct. first you have to locate block point. since the child very small is to be under short acting anesthesia. syringing with radio opaque dye and xray to be taken. if there is blockage then leave it like that. surgery can be planed when child grows up. automaticallyitwill not open up. you can consult eye specialist and take opinion.
