Is Resting Heart Rate Of 100-105 Normal?

Hello.My name is Ivona.Lately my resting heart rate is around 100- 105 Is that normal? Iam 49yrs old.I have history of faster heart rate since I was a kid.I had ekg and ultrasound done and everything was normal.I do suffer from axiety.My doctor is giving me metoprolol which does not help much.I used to take atenolol which was better for me.It did slowed down my heart rate.

Hi,

If no specific clinical symptoms are there like fatigue, dyspnea, (breathing difficulty on exertion) then it is nothing to worry. If the heart rate is more than 110 bpm, if the EKG is unremarkable then it could be anxiety that might be increasing the heart rate. Therefore, try to come out of this and stop reading the heart rate on your own without any reason, actually, it has to be tested by a physician.
