Is Pregnancy Possible While Partner Had A Vasectomy And With Negative Test Result?
Hello my fiancé had a vasectomy 2 yrs ago I'm stop depo I was to get my shot in feb this year I'm currently feeling movement n my belly and mood swings on whom Evers around I always want food and I wanna kno if I can b pregnant? I took a urine test it said negative?
Hello Thanks for writing to us with your health concern. The failure rate of vasectomy is very very low. In fact it is less than 1 %. So if your partner has had a vasectomy, then the odds of your being pregnant are quite low. If you have recently stopped depo shot, then the symptoms can be attributed to that. The body needs some months to get adjusted to the hormonal changes after withdrawal of the Depo shot. THe mood swings can definitely be due to that. It can also be due to your periods approaching - pre menstrual syndrome as it is called. As the urine test is negative, the chances of your being pregnant are next to nil. The urine test is more than 97 % reliable in diagnosing a pregnancy. All the best. Take care.
