Is Pregnancy Possible In Women Post Removal Of Fallopian Tube?
Hello. 18 months ago I had an ectopic pregnancy that ruptured removed. Two days later I underwent emergency surgery for internal bleeding at which time they removed a folopian tube and I was five. 3 units of donor blood due to blood loss. I spent 3 days in ICU and several more in be hospital. My husband and I have tried repeatedly to become pregnant since cleared by the doctors still with no luck. I am now 40 and concerned I will be unable to become pregnant again. Are there any statistics available? I am going to the UNC fertility clinic next week but I d like as my h information as possible Thank you!
Based on the history you have shared, you had ruptured ectopic pregnancy and salpingectomy was done. As your one fallopian tube was removed so you need to get the hysteroscopy to look that the other tube is patent i.e., open or not. If the other tube is open then you can conceive normally but if it is having blockage then there are less chances of conceiving naturally. Then the option would be IVF and that too is having good results.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
