Is Performing Intense Exercise While On Vyvanse Safe?

I m newly prescribed vyvanse.. I m in very good shape and working out is a huge part of my life. I compete in jiu jitsu and grappling tournaments and exercise intensely. My bp is 120-30/60-70 when dosed on vyvanse as well as resting heart rate is 50-60 range. Question is working out intensely ok on this medication?

I understand your concern. Vyvanse is an amfetamine and as such cause a considerable increase of the heart rate. Exercise on the other hand does the same. Being under the effect of this medication while doing strenuous physical activity would put a huge strain even on the healthiest of hearts. You may not feel it but your heart is suffering while under so much strain. So no, I do not think it is a good idea and I do not recommend this.
You could, however, increase the time between vyvanse intake and exercise as much as you can. Taking your dose several hours prior to physical activity would be the sensible thing to do. Either that, or considerably tone down the intensity of exercise. Ultimately it is up to you.
