i had a blood draw on 10/1/12 and now it is 10/19/12 and I am still suffering pain on extension of my left arm in a downward motion. The phlebotomist struck a nerve when doing a blood draw. Should I go back to the doctor and tell him? Is this permanent pain?
Am sorry to hear about the pain that you are experiencing.
However be assured as this pain will reduce and go within few coming days. He may have likely caused an air bubble to enter your vein. It is a common happening whiche drawing blood. You need not worry and it will disappear soon. Mean a while, you may take a painkiller such as Diclofenac to get relief from pain.
Hope this information helps. Feel free to ask if you have any doubt.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. With warm regards, Dr. Sridhar Reddy
