Is Ovariectomy A Risky Surgery?

Hi my mom is having her ovaries taken out tomorrow. She had her uterus taken out three years ago and when she gets surgeries I get so nervous. The doctor said it s outpatient. Should I be worried at all? Is it a risky surgery? I m at college and it s really worrying me

Hi,

You have not given me the details about the ovarian ultrasound. From what your doctor has said, it appears to be fluid filled simple cysts. So in all probability there will be no problem at all with the surgery. Don't get stressed. It is a very common surgery done by all gynecologists.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Ramadevi Wani
