Is Nitrofurantion Syrup The Right Medicament For An UTI In A Child?
hello doctor ,my baby is 5 years old .female befor 10 dais has had symptoms of uti after she had done urine exame showed pus cell+++ .pediatric doctor seen and recommended hers to take (nitrofurantion)syrup twice dailly .my qustion is this treatment is ok or not

The prescription given by your doctor is alright.
Nitrofurantoin can be prescribed in urinary tract infection .
But it is better to prescribe after culture and sensitivity of the urine.
plenty of fluids are given in addition to the above treatment .
