Is Niftas Safe To Treat UTI?

hi im dr sruti..my father is a diabetic with diabetic nephropathy ndiabetic neuropathy ...recently his creatinine levels got raised to 3.2 n fever..his urine culture sample report was dat e.coli is present at rate of 10^5 .....can i use niftas for treating uti....is niftas better or ciprofloxacin

Thanks for query .Your father who is known to have diabetic nephropathy has been detected to have UTI due to E-Coli organisms .

The culture and sensitivity test must have mentioned the sensitivity pattern of organisms .

Nitrofurantoin (Niftas ) and Ciprofloxacin both are prescribed in UTI .There is nothing like which one is better out of these two .

You need to give him appropriate antibiotic as per culture report to control infection .
