Hello ma'am and welcome.

Sometimes due to various influencing factors the fetus can suffer IUGR (intra-uterine growth retardation) which is most commonly seen during the third semester of pregnancy. In such cases steroids are administered to boost growth and development, and a premature delivery can be expected. Do not stress too much about this and speak to your doctor about effective methods of management.

Best wishes.
