Is Morphine Appropriate In Case Of Diarrhea, Vomiting And Dehydration?

I went to the ER last Saturday because I had diarrhea, vomiting and was dehydrated. While there I was given a shot of Morphine to help with my stomach cramping. Ever since then I have noticed a numb spot on my thigh where the injection was given and the numb spot send to be growing larger daily. The area is painful and feels cold. What is causing this and how can I stop it? Should I be alarmed?
