Is Missed Period With Brown Discharge Sign Of Pregnancy?

What could it be?
Hello…. I am 26 years old, married, and my husband and I are trying to conceive. My period has never been regular, but lately I have been able to have a period at least once a month just not ever "on time." I can tell when it's coming due to breasts being sore, slight cramps, irritability, etc. The last period first day was 20th, April. And my period ended on 27th, April. I was expected my next period will be on 23th May. But instead my period did not show up.

After a whole month of a missing period, I started to have a brown discharge since 2 weeks now, which started lighter only when I wiped, on 27th, May.
I thought this was probably my period and was expecting it to be on for 7 days, however , it is 7th, June today and the brown discharge become thicker and heavier which freaked me out because I NEVER get that.
The other weird thing is that my stomach has just been feeling funny lately. Achy and just off the norm. I don't have any of the symptoms of being pregnant except being tired so, and bloating. I have took many pregnancy test ; all are negative, could I still be pregnant?

So I am confused. There are so many things that it could be so I just want to know if I’m pregnant or not ? Thanks for any advice and help.

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

No matter how you feel physically, if you have performed multiple pregnancy tests and they are all negative, then you are not pregnant.

Many women experience symptoms that are commonly associated with pregnancy such as bloating, breast tenderness, mood changes, spotting and nausea when they have irregular menstrual cycles because the hormonal imbalance that caused you to miss your period causes a buildup of hormones in your system similar to pregnancy.

Women can have irregular menstrual cycles for a number of reasons, like some medical conditions, weight loss or gain, travel, and stress. The stress of trying to have a baby can even affect your cycle.

If you miss your period for more than 3 months and have not conceived, it would be a good idea to get a hormonal evaluation by a physician, preferably an OBGYN or fertility specialist.

But for now, you can reliably trust your pregnancy test results that you are not pregnant.

I hope I was able to adequately answer your question today and that my advice was helpful.

Best wishes,

Dr. Brown
